Identification of Dyslexia in FIE - Amy Smith

The goal of this session is to provide clarification and guidance for required and recommended practices in identification of a specific learning disability due to the condition of dyslexia as part of the FIE. A worksheet for use by evaluation teams is provided to assist with applying the framework outlined in the  dyslexia handbook for identification. Finally, guiding questions for district leaders, special education evaluators and dyslexia teachers to assist with development of processes and procedures that support collaboration and ensure child find mandates are met and students receive a free and appropriate public education.
